Start: Tent/bungalow dawn coffee, pack lunch prep; break camp for full wilderness day. Prepare/Do: Navigate prime elephant territory with expert wildlife guide calls; Grade I-II rapids add thrill. End: Floodplain camp (standard/luxury tents) or upgraded riverbank bungalows; stargazing dinner.
Technical: Grade I-II rapids, 50-80m width, 3-6m depth, golden grassland floodplains. Highlights & Scenery: Massive elephant herds drinking at golden hour, pelican squadrons overhead.

  • Day 4: Segment 4 – Somawathiya Approach (20 km, 4 hrs paddle)

Start: Camp breakfast, final wilderness paddle; no overnight camping needed. Prepare/Do: Gentle waters through temple lands, optional monk blessing stop at Somawathiya. End: Manampitiya Bridge extraction, transfer to Kandy/Polonnaruwa (hotel night).
Technical: Grade I flatwater, 80-100m width, 4-5m depth, temple ruins backdrop.
