From the highest density of biodiversity in Asia – where beautiful nature and wildlife thrive. Meet the most hospitable smiling nation, enjoy the most delicious food, and explore 2,500 years of recorded history of the kingdom. All in one, in the middle of the Indian Ocean waves.
Toddyland was founded in 2015 by Dan, a passionate traveler and long-time admirer of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, tea country landscapes, and living cultural traditions. After years of exploring the world, Dan built a bridge between Sri Lanka and Japan – combining Sri Lankan authenticity with Japanese precision, hospitality, and attention to detail.
From 2015–2019, Toddyland hosted more than 270 tourists, volunteers, and researchers, refining a model built on experience-based travel rather than checklist tourism.
Shortly after its founding, Thilina and Anoj joined the journey – bringing expertise in safari operations, Japanese markets, tea country heritage, and community-based tourism. Together, they shaped Toddyland into a cross-cultural travel company with headquarters in Hatton, Sri Lanka, and operational presence in Tokyo/Yokohama (Japan) and Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Today, Toddyland serves travelers, universities, researchers, and institutions looking for depth, authenticity, and structure – not mass-market packages.
